Yes, the school has reopened.
There are many changes, and they are all good. I have to admit, it has been a lot more difficult as well as challenging, than I thought, but all is good now. If you previously contacted me the change of ownership and remodel was more stressful than I thought, but I also lost one of my best friends, spending last weeks and days with her so my memory and work ethic faded briefly.
Most of my classes will be on Tuesdays and probably 2 per month.
I do need volunteers
as some of mine have moved to other states, retired, gone back to work, are taking care of kids and grandkids and many other reasons. And sometimes people just lose interest.
I will not be teaching that much longer so if you have always wanted to volunteer and learn how to really cook, shop, entertain and eat well, now is your opportunity. I ask you volunteer once a month so you do not forget where things are and how things are done. I also always have a dishwasher so that you are only prepping, cooking (if you like) and being an assistant. You are welcome to eat what is left and take it home as well as have the recipes and absorb all that is around you. Classes and clients are most enjoyable and there is never a dull, boring moment!
Volunteers are notified by email, text and/or phone call. I do ask for the courtesy of a response-yes or no. That is, it! I have created a pretty relaxed environment and no one ever works alone. There are always seasoned volunteers working so that you are paired with someone that can work with you. Believe me, when I say it is not difficult.
Should you want some part time prep work once you have volunteered, please let me know. All of my staff is usually hired by volunteering first.
I hope you will think about this as we have created a very unique volunteer family. Volunteers are the backbone of cooking schools and I do know that your time spent with me is as precious to you as it is to me. And I am always grateful for your help.
Again, please forgive me if you had previously reached out to me, but this remodel along with some other situations, have pre occupied my brain, and I am finally back teaching and missing all my clients and classes.
I remain, with great affection, your friend, Debbie D.
P.S. Just to verify the rumor, I am enjoying catering so if you are having a celebration, do think of me!
